Our recent event, in partnership with the US Embassy Prague and American Centre Prague, honored the legacy of Joe Mestenhauser, whose work in international education continues to inspire. It emphasized the importance of fostering understanding, collaboration, and innovation in today’s interconnected world.
The event brought together diverse leaders from academia, diplomacy, and civil society to discuss future educational innovation. Strengthening international education is key to the Czech Republic’s success, creating a vibrant academic community.

MIIC’s Founding Director Dr. Eva Janebova and Masterclass leader Dr. Jos Beelen shared expertise with Swiss universities in Bern, invited by Movetia. They explored Professional Learning Communities, addressing key issues and mapping the context, with experts building their own community throughout the Masterclass.
MIIC is excited to announce the launch of our new Masterclass: “Driving Change Collaboratively: Facilitating Communities of Practice.” Organized for the Swiss agency Movetia, the training is designed to equip participants with the know-how to create and manage Professional Learning Communities and networks.
MIIC’s Eva Janebová and Adriana Dergam led a workshop on Intercultural Communication at the University of Hradec Králové in Czechia. The workshop aimed to enhance understanding through a cultural lens, explore cooperative learning, and maximize the benefits of cultural diversity.
MIIC supports MA and PhD students at Charles University in Prague in enhancing intercultural relations. Director Eva Janebova discussed international journalism challenges, emphasizing MIIC’s commitment to education internationalization.
MIIC’s founding director, Dr. Eva Janebova, has been recognized for her role on the A. Noam Chomsky Global Connections Awards Committee. This recognition underscores her commitment to enhancing global scholarly exchanges.
MIIC has officially become a member of the Global Collective for Study Abroad Researchers and Administrators (GCSARA). By joining GCSARA, MIIC will collaborate with top-tier experts and institutions to expand educational opportunities internationally.
MIIC is launching a Masterclass tailored for aspiring community facilitators, aimed at bolstering their skills and confidence in community management. Our global mentors bring insights from academic communities throughout Europe and the USA.
